ABOUT ALPENGLOW

Movement brings us together.

Alpenglow is growing from beach volleyball toward a year-round home for sport, wellness, and community in Missoula.

The glow comes through connection.

Alpenglow is the moment a mountain peak is transformed by light. The peak doesn’t create the glow on its own. It receives it.

In the same way, people achieve their greatest growth through connection—with coaches, teammates, mentors, friends, and community. Alpenglow exists to be that source of connection: a hub where people come together to move, train, recover, compete, and belong.

The result is transformation. The glow is what happens when people are supported by something bigger than themselves.

Community & connection

Relationships give people encouragement, shared purpose, and a place to belong.

Wellness & movement

Moving, training, and recovering are connected parts of a healthier life.

Shared experience & personal growth

Practice and shared challenges create opportunities to learn, gain confidence, and grow.

This is the purpose guiding our work today and the year-round facility we’re planning for Missoula.

Our starting point is on the sand.

Alpenglow Beach Volleyball brings players together through time on the court. This fall, Sunset Skills Lab offers Alpenglow alumni and returning beach players coach-organized drills and optional play at MSO Beach at Playfair Park.

FUTURE FACILITY · PLANNED

One place. Many ways to move.

Imagine a winter evening with sand underfoot, a game on the next court, and familiar faces nearby. Our vision brings sport, training, learning, and gathering into one connected place—giving people different ways to enter and reasons to return.

Beach at the heart

A year-round indoor beach environment would extend the season for learning, recreation, and competition. Summer would still make room for Missoula’s outdoor beach culture.

Room beyond the sand

Pickleball, a flexible multiuse gym, strength training, and spaces for learning and community are part of the plan. Shared spaces could also help local coaches and organizations build their own programs.

Where things stand: The facility is in development and is not open. The current plan is evaluating an existing-building conversion and a purpose-built facility. Location, opening date, final spaces, and operating details are not confirmed.

FUTURE FACILITY · PLANNED

Less driving between activities. More time together.

Picture a possible afternoon: a child heads to beach training while a parent works out or watches nearby. A sibling finds space for homework, play, or scheduled enrichment in the Learning + Movement Commons. Afterward, everyone reconnects in the same building.

Move

Training and play could fit alongside one another, with options for different ages and interests.

Learn

The planned Commons would make room for study, enrichment, gathering, and movement.

Reconnect

Places to pause and spend time together would be part of the experience, alongside the courts and training spaces.

This is an illustration of the intended experience, not an operating schedule or a promise of childcare. Programs, supervision, access, and timing remain to be developed.

Built around people.

Our aim is to create a welcoming place where people can learn, challenge themselves, and build connections beyond a game. Coaches, families, players, and community organizations all have perspectives that can help shape that work.
